NP520

The NP520 is a 5 speed manual transmission for front wheel drive vehicles including late 1980s versions of the Dodge Shadow. The transmission casing and bell housing were made from aluminum and had syncro rings that were a single piece design or multi-piece design. The NP in the transmission's name is an acronym for New Process. Vehicles that used this transmission include 1987 Chrysler Laser and Lebaron, 1987-89 Dodge Daytona and Lancer, 1987-89 Dodge Caravan and Ram, and the 1989 Plymouth Acclaim.
